Consumers have racked up more than $2.2 trillion in purchases and cash advances on major credit cards in just the last year. And it's become a habit for them to spend more than they have. The overall credit card debt grew by 315 percent from 1989 to 2006, according to public policy research firm Demos. To compound the problem, fewer people are paying their credit cards bills on time. The percentage of people delinquent on their credit cards is the highest it's been in three years, according to CardTrack.com. With banks tightening their standards and the drumbeat of recession getting louder, there's no better time to grab control of your debt than now. |

My s*** Nokia 6300 has run out of memory |

I was about to write about the Nokia 6300 in glowing terms. It’s the popular candybar phone given out to executives in companies. Small, light, good battery. Shit address book. I tried synching it with my Apple. Not compatible at the minute. There’s probably some annoying work around. I tried using Zyb to synchronise my address book. It half worked. Nothing to do with Zyb. Not Zyb’s fault. My shitty 6300 won’t store over 1500 contacts. I got a ‘memory full’ error on it whilst the sync was taking place. So here is yet another blog post. How many posts can I write about how shite my Nokia experience generally is? People email me and IM me now and again trying to defend Nokia. Only last week I was talking with an uber popular Nokia-fancier blogger. When we sat down (virtually) via IM and I made my case, the blogger simply couldn’t answer my points. |

SMS Text News Awards - submission deadline approaching fast |

Just a polite reminder. The deadline is looming for submissions to the SMS Text Awards. We’ve had hundreds of entries for the 20 categories and the deadline in next week- the 25th July. Somehow I have a foreboding feeling a handful of us will be going blind with reading over the next couple of weeks. So just as a reminder, we are giving out 19 awards for mobile industry excellence and one award for being dreadful. The categories are: - Best handset

- Best marketing campaign
- Best public social use of mobile
- Best business person in the mobile industry
- Best user
- Best mobile marketing manager
- Best CSR story
- Best instant messaging tool
